Dr. Nafiseh Jirofti is an Assistant Professor of Tissue Engineering and the Bone and Joint Laboratory Manager. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Tissue Engineering from Sistan and Bluchestan University, which she received in 2011. Following her Ph.D., she spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Orthopedic Research Center in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS). Her primary research interest is in the synthesis, development, and improvement of hybrid biopolymer scaffolds for therapeutic and diagnostic applications in tissue engineering and biomedicine.

Dr. Jirofti has advised and guided graduate students in various areas of tissue engineering and has managed the nanotechnology laboratory setup design at the University of Sistan and Baluchestan, Zahedan, Iran for five years. She has also focused on understanding the preparation of drug-loaded polymer solutions as a bioink for the fabrication of nanostructures by freeze-drying and bioprinting methods for bone tissue engineering and wound-healing processes. In addition, Dr. Jirofti has expertise in cell culture, extraction of bone marrow stem cells, synthesis, and nanofabrication of polymer scaffolds for tissue engineering applications. She has also worked on sol-gel synthesis of antibacterial bioceramics, external fixator coating, and other orthopedic research fields during her time at the Orthopedic Research Center.

Dr. Jirofti is a member of Iran's National Foundation of Elites and serves as a reviewer for international journals in the field of drug delivery, vascular, bone, and skin tissue engineering. She has supervised more than ten proposals and has published over 30 journal articles and international conference articles.
